OWNER, SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST
Sarah Rainer, M.S., CCC-SLP
meet your therapist
Sarah is a speech-language pathologist and the founder of Wishbone Speech Therapy. Her work is grounded in the belief that the best therapy and deepest connections begin with understanding the whole child: their strengths, interests, dislikes, relationships, and the environments where they spend the most time.
Throughout her career, Sarah has worked with children and families across early intervention, public schools, and private practice. These experiences have shaped an approach that is thoughtful, practical, and highly individualized and builds therapy around what is already working well while guiding the skills that are ready to develop.
Her services are neurodiversity affirming and she understands that communication can take many forms and encourages all forms of communication, with spoken language being just one of them. She believes that just as children are developing their ability to understand and navigate the world around them, families and communities can also learn to better understand, accommodate, and connect with their children.
A Bay Area native, Sarah earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley and her master’s degree from La Salle University in Philadelphia. She holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and is licensed to practice in California.

Beyond the Therapy Room
Outside of work, Sarah enjoys reading biographies and history, learning about animals and bugs, uncovering curious finds in antique fairs, and spending time with her family and pets. She enjoys traveling near and far, but the Bay Area has always been, and remains, her favorite place.
Sarah is wonderful with kids. She follows their lead, taps into their interests, and comes up with creative ways to engage them.
She’s great at giving children access to activities and experiences that truly resonate with them.
